Custom strainer
end connections
The strainer’s connections have to match the line – not the other way round. We manufacture with exactly the connection type your pipeline requires: flange to DIN or ANSI, butt-weld end, thread, dairy pipe union or clamp connection. This eliminates adapters and fitting pieces entirely.
Metric flange
DIN EN 1092-1
US flange
ANSI CL150 – CL300
Butt-weld end
DIN EN 12627
Face-to-face length
EN 558-1 or made to measure
Why the connection decides the installation time
Standard strainers force the plant into a compromise: if the connection type does not match, adapters, additional pairs of flanges or transition pieces are installed. Every additional joint means another potential leak point, more installation length and additional gaskets in the maintenance schedule.
Because we manufacture every strainer as a one-off, the connection becomes part of the design. You specify the nominal size, standard, pressure rating and – if required – the exact face-to-face length; we design the housing and connection together and test them as one unit.
- No adapters, no additional sealing points
- Face-to-face length exactly to the existing pipe dimension
- Different connection types can be combined at inlet and outlet
- Connection material to match the housing
Designs
The connection type determines how the strainer is fitted into the line – and how quickly it can be removed again for cleaning.
Flanged connection
DIN EN 1092-1 · ANSI CL150 – CL300
The standard. Sealing face form B1 to DIN, RF for ANSI. Weld neck flanges for higher pressure ratings. Face-to-face length to EN 558-1 series 1 or to your installation dimension.
Butt-weld end
DIN EN 12627 · ANSI
For a permanent connection without a pair of flanges. Saves face-to-face length and sealing points – used mainly for large nominal sizes and in district heating lines.
Thread
Female and male thread · NPT socket
The most compact solution for small nominal sizes. Also available as a combination: housing DN50 with 1 inch female-threaded nozzles.
Dairy pipe union
DIN 11851
Detachable union that can be released without tools, smooth internal contour. Also available as a weld-on end.
Clamp connection
aseptic · crevice-free
Clamp ring, Tri-Clamp or clamp flange. Opening and closing without tools, crevice-free seal for plants with frequent cleaning.
Special connections
to specification
Couplings such as the Perrot system, process connections that differ from the housing nominal size, earthing lugs for flammable media or laterally offset nozzles.

When a special connection pays off
When replacing an existing strainer, if the installation length and flange pattern are fixed and the line is not to be modified. Likewise in plants supplied internationally, where metric and ANSI standards meet. And wherever cleaning is frequent: clamp connections can be released without tools and leave no crevices in which residues can collect.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Before production starts, you receive the design drawing for approval – the drawing also shows the connection type, flange pattern and face-to-face length. Only once you have confirmed it does the order go into production. We incorporate any requested changes beforehand.
Of course. Drawings, specifications, parts lists or the data sheet of the previous strainer are the best basis. Our design engineers adopt your requirements and adapt them where manufacturing or the applicable code requires it – we agree any deviations with you in advance.
Yes. For example, we combine an ANSI flange at the inlet with a DIN flange at the outlet when the plant changes standard at that point.
As a rule, yes. Send us the installation dimension between the flanges – we design the strainer so that it fits without modifying the pipeline.
The standard is form B1 (raised face) to DIN EN 1092-1, for ANSI the RF version. Tongue/groove and other facing types are available on request.
Yes – the connection is made in the housing material, so also in duplex, Monel or Hastelloy.
Yes, this often even makes sense: a larger housing increases the screen area and lowers the pressure drop, while the connection follows the line – for example a DN300 housing with a DN100 process connection.
