Stainless steel round screen as replacement screen and strainer element for the pot type strainer

Strainer spare parts

Spare parts for filters and strainers

A clogged screen, a brittle gasket, a deformed basket – the unit itself is fine, only its internals are not. For this we manufacture replacement screens and spare parts – for our own units as well as for other makes.

This is needed more often than it should be. After a few years, some manufacturers no longer supply elements, and replacing the entire strainer is being considered – although the housing is in perfect condition. We replicate the wear part, to size or to sample: from the replacement strainer basket and the strainer element for the Y strainer to the gasket.

What is replaced

Four parts that wear

The strainer housing itself rarely breaks. What gets replaced are the parts that do the work.

Replacement screens and strainer elements

The most requested part. Clogged, torn or simply too coarse for a new task – we manufacture to size, in any mesh size.

Replacement baskets

The perforated plate support basket as an exchange strainer basket, with or without fine mesh screen. Also for discontinued ranges for which nothing else is available.

Strainer cover gaskets: groove gasket, spiral wound gasket, graphite with tanged steel insert, EPDM, FKM (Viton), PTFE, ePTFE and fibre gasket Klingersil or Klinger-Quantum

Gaskets

Cover and flange gaskets, spiral wound and kammprofile gaskets. Made to the groove dimensions if the standard size does not fit.

For other makes

Strainer elements for strainers from other manufacturers. The dimensions of the old part are enough – we do not need a nameplate.

Other makes

When the manufacturer no longer supplies

It happens regularly: a strainer has been running for twenty years, the housing is in perfect condition – but replacement screens can no longer be obtained. Then the question arises whether the entire valve has to be replaced.

Usually it does not. We replicate strainer elements for strainers of other makes – same dimensions, same fit, mesh size to your specification. What we need for this and what a replica achieves is explained on a separate page: Replacements for other makes →

  • Replica to sample, dimensions or photo
  • Also for ranges that no longer exist
  • Same or different mesh size – your choice
  • Matching gaskets

A note for transparency: we are not a contractual partner of these manufacturers and do not supply original parts. What we supply is a replica that fits.

Older ranges

Even if the unit is no longer built

For our own ranges we continue to supply spare parts, even if the unit itself has been discontinued. This applies, for example, to our previous pot type strainer series: new units are no longer available, but we still manufacture replacement baskets and screens.

Tell us the model and nominal size. If the unit comes from us, we will find the design in our records – often it is enough to tell us which strainer it is.

Enquiry

Four details are enough

For a replacement screen we need neither a drawing nor an article number. These four dimensions are enough – take them from the old part.

1

Outside diameter

The largest diameter of the screen or basket, where it rests in the housing. In millimetres, accurate to the millimetre.

2

Height

From the seating edge to the bottom. For conical parts, also the diameter of the tip.

3

Mesh size

What needs to be retained. If you do not know: tell us the medium and what has been getting through so far – we will derive it from that.

4

Material

Stainless steel is the standard. For aggressive media, tell us the medium and we will select the alloy.

A photo always helps. It shows us the design of the rim, an existing handle (tab) or grip and the design of the bottom. These things are not covered by four dimensions. If you can send in the old part, that is the most reliable basis.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Yes, this is a large part of our spare parts business. We need the dimensions of the old part – outside diameter, height, mesh size, material – or the old part itself as a sample. A photo shows us the design of rim and bottom.

Then tell us the medium and what has been getting through so far. From the application and the particle size we derive a range. With a sample, we measure the mesh size ourselves.

For our own units yes, permanently. For our previous pot type strainer series, for example, there are no new units any more, but replacement baskets and screens are still available. For other makes, we replicate to sample, regardless of whether the range still exists.

The easiest way is by post, together with a short note stating which strainer it is for and how many parts you need. You will get the sample back if you still need it – please let us know.

Yes, and this is often useful. If a screen clogs too quickly, a coarser mesh size is the solution – provided that it still retains what has to be retained. We discuss this beforehand.

Gaskets, yes. Pressure gauges, ball valves and differential pressure indicators are bought-in parts – we can supply them as well if you tell us the model and connection.
